Acme Movers' New Location
Driver's Seminar
Acme Movers and Storage Company of Morehead City has moved into
their new location at 5030 Mattie Street. They now have 20,000 sq. feet
of storage at 3 vaults high and 2800 sq. feet of office space.
Acme Movers recently won the Green Arrow award as one of the top
Non-Temporary Storage Service Providers in the Southeast region for
2006. They were rated in the top 10 of over 700 contractors. For the
last 16 years, the Southeast Regional Storage Management Office of the
military's Surface Deployment and Distribution Command has awarded
the Green Arrow award certificate acknowledging service providers as
superior performers. Congratulations to Acme!

The Tar Heel Van
Our fourth drivers seminar was held Saturday, March 10. We had over 30 participants
again.
Trooper Mitchell of the NC Highway Patrol showed what he was looking for on an
inspection of a tractor-trailer and a straight truck. He emphasized safety points and
informed the drivers of some of the tricks that he uses to get the information that he
needs.
Brent Honeycutt of All American Relocation in Raleigh taught the logs portion of the
class. He explained when you need to log and how you to log. There was also a log
contest in which all the drivers participated. Harold Rogers of Superior Moving in
Durham won the log contest, along with a cordless drill.
Melissa Hanner of All American Relocation in Raleigh taught the customer service and
paperwork segment of the seminar. She also showed a short film, entitled, Give the
Customer a Pickle. Melissa emphasized how important drivers are the company and to
the move process and the little things a driver and crew can do to keep the customer
happy. Mary McCann of Dehaven's Transfer in Durham won the inventory contest, along
with a cordless drill.
The drivers were all treated to breakfast, given official NCMA hats and were given lots
of door prizes, donated by Victory Packaging, All American Relocation, and Weather
Brothers Moving & Storage Company.
The most frequent comment from the participants was that the seminar needed to be
longer--and this seminar was held on a Saturday!
Another drivers seminar will be held this fall, so watch you mail for the notice and get
your drivers signed up for this most informative event!
